Incarnation Monastery
RIGINS
Within
the Camaldolese Benedictine heritage, elements of both communal
(cenobitical) and solitary (eremitical) life are combined. Incarnation
Monastery, located in Berkeley,
California, represents the urban and communal dimension
of the Camaldolese charism.
Our life is dedicated to the love and praise of God in the bond
of fraternal charity. We offer a quest ministry and seek in charity
to support our guests in their prayer. Thus Camaldolese life is
simply our response to our Lord's threefold commandment of love,
of God, neighbor, and true self.
ETTING
Incarnation Monastery is located in Berkeley just North of the
University of California and the Graduate Theological Union. Each

Union, a remarkable ecumenical experience bonding nine seminaries

Franciscan, and Jesuit), Unitarian and interdenominational), together
with Orthodox, Judaic and Buddhist Institutes.
he main
campus of the University of California at Berkeley is only a few

as a house of studies for the Camaldolese monks.
