Location
 he Hermitage
is located at Lucia, off the Pacific Coast Highway, (Highway
1) about 25 miles south of Big Sur village, 55 miles south
of Monterey, and 85 miles north of San Luis Obispo. The entrance
road, on the inland side of the highway 1/2 mile south of Lucia
Lodge is marked by a sign and a large wooden cross. Follow
this road to the top (2 miles) and look for the parking sign
in front of the bookstore.
he nearest
airport and bus terminal is in Monterey. There is no public transportation
to the Hermitage. The Hermitage provides transportation on Fridays.
Pick-up in Monterey is from 5-7 PM and drop off is 7 AM.
